How to effectively protect yourself from the heat in an apartment

The most effective solution is to have a split-type air conditioner, either permanently installed or portable. One part is outside the building and the other is inside, which makes it quiet and efficient. In second place is an air conditioner with a hose exhausting hot air outside, but because of this, warm air gets sucked back in through every crack, weakening its cooling power. If your apartment is too large and the AC can't keep up, try closing off some of the rooms. The shorter the section of the hose inside the apartment, the better, as it heats up to 50 degrees Celsius during operation. For the same reason, turn on the exhaust hood when cooking and avoid using the oven unless necessary. Windows. It's best not to open them as long as the outside temperature is higher than inside the apartment. Cool the apartment down at night by creating drafts, and if that's not possible, place a fan about a meter away from the window so it blows hot air outside. If you have a second fan, you can set it up to create an artificial draft by closing other windows along the way (creating a wind tunnel). You can try placing a bowl of ice right in front of the fan to provide some cooling, but it is not very effective. The apartment heats up a lot from the windows; cover them from the outside if you can, so they remain in the shade. If you don't have that option, use special reflective blinds or thick curtains.
